Although these experiences might not help you feel better they do not in themselves cause you to catch a virus. People who work in modern, airconditioned buildings are also likely to get more colds than those in older buildings where there are natural draughts and windows can be opened. US servicemen living in draughty, old wartime huts were found to have only half as many colds as their counterparts in new quarters.
