FICTION: The truth about chicken soup.

The tradition of feeding chicken soup to people suffering from a cold dates back to the thirteenth century. It was believed to revive the body and cure all ills. In 1978 a doctor from Florida tested the effects of chicken soup scientifically and found that it did indeed open clogged nasal passages and let patients breathe more easily. The improvements, however, did not last for very long. Any steaming hot drink probably has similar effects.
